Treatments


  1. Aluminium Chlorhexahydrate (Drichlor):  This roll-on product is applied directly to the areas in which sweating is excessive.  The product is used twice a day until the sweating is diminished.


  1. Iontophoresis:  This uses a special device which is applied to the area of excessive sweating.  The device may be ordered from the rooms.


  1. Botox injections:  A latest innovation in the treatment of excessive sweating.  Injections are given once in 6 months to a year, depending on when symptoms return.  Botox may be used for hyperhidrosis of the axillae (armpits), palms or soles.


  1. Sympathectomy:    An operation which stops the nerve supply to the area of excessive sweating.  It is not without its complications and should therefore not be considered as a first line treatment
